Professional History
In 1983, I earned a B.S. in Computer and Systems Engineering from
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI)
in Troy, New York.
|
After graduation, I worked at
Teradyne Inc. on VLSI testers,
first as a Hardware Engineer and then as a Software Engineer.
|
In 1986 I moved to Santa Barbara and worked as a Software Engineer on networking devices at
Advanced Computer Communications (ACC).
|
In 1988, I entered graduate school studying Cognitive Science at UC Berkeley.
I earned my PhD in 1995, with my dissertation and 5 publications specializing in visual attention using a paradigm known as "negative priming." Other areas of study include cognitive neuroscience (mind-brain connection),
neural networks, artificial intelligence, dynamical systems theory, and philosophy of mind.
During the last two years of graduate school, I also worked part time at
Interval Research,
researching visual perception of video information.
|
After graduating from Cal, I worked as a Senior Design Engineer at
Tribe ComputerWorks which later became
Whistle Communications.
While at Whistle, I designed the framework of the user interface for their
leading edge user-friendly Internet server, the InterJet.
|
In 1997 Alon Chaver and I co-founded InterWeavers, a web site design and internet consulting company specializing in web sites for local businesses. Through the "dot-com" years, Interweavers increasingly focused on helping local real estate companies establish an effective online presence, including web sites, MLS listings products, and SEO.
|
In 2001 we incorporated as iHomefinder, Inc. and began to focus exclusively on the real estate MLS listings business, now referred to as IDX ("Internet Data eXchange") within the industry. Since then, we've expanded nation-wide to offer MLS listings products to clients in over 160 metro markets in 49 states.
